Gyeongnam Governor Park Wansu: "Quickly Prepare Measures to Boost Domestic Demand"
Review of Supplementary Budget if Needed in Tourism, Consumption, and Small Business Sectors
On the 3rd, Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, emphasized the establishment of a Gyeongnam-style domestic demand revitalization plan at the meeting of heads of departments and bureaus.
According to Gyeongnam Province, Governor Park stated regarding the domestic demand activation measures announced at the emergency economic and livelihood meeting presided over by the President on the 29th of last month, "The province must also promptly prepare measures to stimulate the domestic economy."
He instructed, "Create comprehensive measures for tourism, consumption, and small business sectors, and if necessary, consider supplementary budgets."
Regarding the ‘Hansan Victory Bridge Promotion’ promised by President Yoon Seok-yeol at the 12th Fisheries Day commemorative event held at Yeongun Port in Tongyeong on the 31st of the same month, he ordered active consultations with the central government to exempt it from preliminary feasibility studies and more.
The Hansan Victory Bridge is a marine bridge connecting Donam-dong in Tongyeong and Hansan Island, and the route extending to Yeoncho-myeon in Geoje is included in the national trunk road network expansion plan.

Governor Park also mentioned the need for change in regional public universities.
"Structural reform is essential for local universities to survive, and the reason for the existence of public universities is to nurture talent needed in the region," he said. "Start preparing reform plans for Namhae and Geochang public universities soon and proceed with the procedures within the first half of the year."
Regarding the matters discussed at the Investment Attraction Advisory Committee on the 31st, he said, "We should propose tax incentives necessary for investment attraction in sectors such as tourism to the government and actively use overseas corporate investment information in areas like nuclear power and UAM to directly engage in foreign investment attraction activities."
Concerning the ‘S-BRT’, the high-grade trunk rapid transit system in Changwon, which will begin construction this month, he said, "Issues such as the central divider and road landscaping, and bicycle paths along the S-BRT route should be approached comprehensively, considering the value of green spaces as a planned city and public opinion."
