70-Year-Old Man Who Killed Woman He Was Stalking in Sachal Detained
A man in his 70s was arrested on charges of killing an acquaintance at a temple in Seoul.
The Nowon Police Station in Seoul announced on the 3rd that they have detained Mr. A (72) on charges of murder and violation of the Stalking Punishment Act for killing a woman he had been stalking at a temple.
Mr. A is accused of repeatedly striking the head of Ms. B (65), who was working in the kitchen of Hakrimsa Temple's restaurant on Suraksan Mountain in Seoul, with a blunt object at around 5:26 a.m. on the 31st of last month, resulting in her death.
Mr. A is also charged with unilaterally expressing affection and repeatedly demanding meetings despite Ms. B's clear rejection.

Immediately after the crime, Mr. A reported himself to 112, and the police arrested him 15 minutes after the incident. It is reported that Mr. A told the police he committed the crime because Ms. B had mistreated him during his four years of volunteer work.
