Changwon National University Develops Talent for Functional Ceramic Research and Development
Signed a Business Agreement with Wonjin Worldwide
Changwon National University has signed a 'Corporate Participation and Research and Development Business Agreement (MOU)' with Wonjin Worldwide.
According to the Functional Ceramic Materials Innovation R&D Specialized Workforce Training Hub Center at Changwon National University, this agreement was conducted as a written agreement signed by representatives from industry and academia.
The initiative aims to cultivate specialized researchers in functional ceramic materials who can respond to the future manufacturing industry of the 4th Industrial Revolution through the development of an industry-academia project-based education platform.
The university and the company agreed to collaborate on ▲ designing education curricula based on corporate demand ▲ discovering and conducting short-term education programs ▲ deriving industry-academia projects and linking them to employment.
According to the university, Wonjin Worldwide is the root of the Wonjin Group, established its domestic mass production plant in 1987, set up a technology research institute, and in the early 2000s became the first in the domestic industry to enter China, completing vertical integration in the refractory business.
The company is pursuing its business with the goal of becoming a world-class leader in the materials field, having sales corporations not only domestically but also in Europe, Japan, and China.

Lee Soon-il, Director of the Specialized Workforce Training Hub Center at Changwon National University, stated, “Our goal is to minimize the gap between labor demand and supply by cultivating corporate-friendly master's and doctoral level professionals who can be immediately utilized without internal retraining programs within industries. We will establish a functional ceramic specialized education platform based on industry-academia projects to nurture creative and convergent professionals leading the 4th Industrial Revolution.”
