Realmeter: "President Yoon's Approval Rating Rebounds... Up 0.7%p to 36.7%"
Democratic Party Support Rises 1.7%p to 47.1%
People Power Party Support Falls 0.8%p to 37.1%
President Yoon Suk-yeol's approval rating for his administration has stopped declining for three consecutive weeks and rebounded. The Democratic Party, whose approval rating increased, was found to be ahead of the People Power Party, whose approval rating declined, by a margin outside the margin of error.
According to a regular public opinion poll released on the 3rd by Realmeter (conducted via ARS automated response method on 2,512 adults aged 18 and over nationwide over five days from the 27th to the 31st of last month, commissioned by Media Tribune), President Yoon's approval rating rose by 0.7 percentage points from the previous survey to 36.7%. However, the negative evaluation also increased by 0.4 percentage points to 61.6% compared to the previous survey.
However, President Yoon's daily approval rating showed a recovery after hitting 35.3% on the 29th of last month, reaching 37.4% on the 31st of last month.
President Yoon's approval rating stood out among those in their 30s (up 5.0 percentage points, from 30.7% to 35.7%), those aged 70 and above (up 4.9 percentage points, from 53.3% to 58.2%), and workers in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries (up 6.6 percentage points, from 44.9% to 51.5%).
In terms of party support, the Democratic Party's approval rating rose by 1.7 percentage points from the previous survey to 47.1%. The People Power Party fell by 0.8 percentage points to 37.1%, and the Justice Party decreased by 0.1 percentage points to 3.1%.
The Democratic Party saw rising support among those in their 20s (up 7.2 percentage points, from 40.0% to 47.2%), students (up 14.2 percentage points, from 35.3% to 49.5%), and the unemployed/retired/others (up 7.1 percentage points, from 34.8% to 41.9%). The People Power Party's support declined among those in their 60s (down 5.5 percentage points, from 52.5% to 47.0%) and students (down 10.1 percentage points, from 39.9% to 29.8%).
On the same day, Hong Joon-pyo, Mayor of Daegu, criticized the People Power Party's approval rating on social media, saying, "Usually, when a new leadership takes office, the party's approval rating surges due to the convention effect, but have we analyzed why our party's approval rating is plummeting instead?" He added, "If the party leadership continues to act weakly and without conviction or philosophy, is there any guarantee that we will not return to a non-standing committee system ahead of the next general election?"
