'Sexual Misconduct Cover-up' Trump Indicted... First Former US President Charged
The Manhattan grand jury in New York decided on the 30th (local time) to indict former President Donald Trump in the hush money case related to sexual misconduct allegations, according to The New York Times (NYT).
This is the first time a former or current U.S. president has been criminally charged.
The Manhattan District Attorney's Office alleges that former President Trump paid $130,000 to former porn actress Stormy Daniels to silence her from revealing claims of a sexual relationship just before the 2016 presidential election.

Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen testified before Congress in 2019 that he paid the hush money on behalf of Trump, and prosecutors stated that the checks were not properly recorded, which could constitute falsification of business records. The hush money was later reimbursed.
