Incheon City Announces Call for Women-Friendly Companies... Support for Environmental Improvement Costs and Career Interruption Prevention Consulting
Incheon City will provide up to 10 million KRW in environmental improvement funds to women-friendly companies and strengthen projects to prevent career interruptions.
The city announced on the 30th that it will hold a public contest for women-friendly companies to create a better working environment for women.
The designation targets companies located in Incheon with 5 to fewer than 50 regular employees.
Based on evaluation criteria covering 23 items in four areas?women's employment status, work-family balance support, business agreements, and cooperative projects?10 companies will be selected in order of highest scores after on-site inspections.
Companies designated as women-friendly will receive up to 10 million KRW for environmental improvement projects such as women-only facilities like lounges and nursing rooms, as well as renovation of outdated facilities. Additionally, a hiring incentive of 2 million KRW (up to 2 employees per company) will be provided for new female hires, along with customized organizational culture improvement consulting for companies.
Notably, this year Incheon City was selected as the first metropolitan local government to operate a 'Specialized Career Interruption Prevention Support Project,' allowing companies to receive consulting from experts such as labor attorneys and career planning specialists.
Companies wishing to be designated as women-friendly can apply by visiting, mailing, or emailing the Incheon Metropolitan Women's New Work Center by the 25th of next month.

An official from Incheon City stated, "Women's employment policies need to shift from supporting career interruptions to proactively preventing career interruptions among currently employed women," adding, "We hope this project will enable women to work in an environment where they can continue their careers without interruption."
