Busan Office of Education's Steps to Create a Safe Workplace... Establishment of 'Near-Miss Accident' Reporting Box
Improvement of Worker Hazardous and Risk Factors
Near-Miss Incident Discovery and Competition Held
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education's efforts to create a safe workplace, such as establishing an 'Near-Miss Accident Reporting Box' and holding a Near-Miss Accident Discovery Contest, are drawing attention.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is launching an online 'Near-Miss Accident Reporting Box' to identify hazardous and dangerous factors affecting workers in school settings.
A 'near-miss accident' refers to a situation where an accident almost occurred but no actual human or material damage took place.
This reporting box aims to actively discover and improve latent hazardous and dangerous factors in educational institutions to prevent industrial accidents. The Busan Office of Education judged that worker participation is essential for uncovering near-miss accident cases and thus established an easily accessible online reporting box.
The online reporting box can be accessed through various channels, including ▲ the School Safety Plus website ▲ QR codes on promotional materials distributed to schools ▲ and the Near-Miss Accident Reporting menu on the Office of Education's Pen Messenger.
Along with this, the Office of Education will hold the nation's first 'Near-Miss Accident Discovery Contest' among metropolitan and provincial offices of education to promote the reporting box and encourage active reporting.
Near-miss accidents can be reported through the online Near-Miss Accident Reporting Box until May 4, and three outstanding reporters will each be awarded 200,000 KRW. In the future, excellent reporters will be selected and awarded semiannually to encourage continuous participation from workers.
Through this process, the Busan Office of Education plans to take the lead in preventing industrial accidents by preparing countermeasures at the Office of Education level for hazardous and dangerous factors that are difficult for educational institutions to improve on their own among the discovered near-miss accidents.
