Gwangju Seo-gu to Hold 'Healing Music Concert' Around Gwangjucheon on the 31st

Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, will hold a healing concert with residents along the fully bloomed cherry blossom area of Gwangjucheon on the 31st.

According to Seo-gu on the 29th, this concert is themed "New Spring" and is organized to mark the recovery of daily life from COVID-19 and to celebrate the spring of Seo-gu, a cultural city where rest, leisure, and music flow.

At the main stage set up on the lawn under Gwangamgyo Bridge, performances will continue from 6 p.m., including Lucid's electronic string performance, Darak's musical gala show, and the fusion band The Blue Years.

Additionally, singer Byeon Jin-seop, known as the legend of ballads, will make a special appearance and heat up the stage with hits such as "Neoegeuro Ttodasie" and "Huimangsahang".

Seo-gu has also prepared various events to fully enjoy spring along with the healing concert.

Before the concert, from 4:30 p.m. on the 31st, the "One More Step Walking Festival" will take place on a 2.4 km round-trip section between under Gwangamgyo Bridge and Dongcheon-dong stepping stones, and an emotional photo zone and an outdoor piano freely available to citizens will be installed around the stage.

Residents of Gwangcheon, Yudeok, and Dongcheon-dong will participate in experience programs such as making cherry blossom-themed crafts, making frames, and Nordic walking until the 1st of next month, and performances including saxophone, children's choir, ocarina, and orchestral music will also be held on stage.

Seo-gu expects a large crowd for this event and, with the cooperation of the Western Police Station, plans to deploy traffic control personnel during the event period and place safety staff and ambulances on site to ensure event safety.

Kim I-gang, head of Seo-gu Office, said, "We prepared the concert to give happy memories to residents welcoming the new spring after escaping from COVID-19," and added, "I hope this weekend will be a time for families, couples, and friends to walk along the cherry blossom path, heal, and enjoy high-quality performances together."
