Professor Kim Seong-geun of Silla University Appointed as Chair of Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Committee of the Korea ESG Council
Professor Kim Seong-geun, head of the ESG Management Research Institute at Silla University, has been appointed as the Chair of the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam (Bu-Ul-Gyeong) Committee of the Republic of Korea ESG Committee.
The Republic of Korea ESG Committee, officially launched on the 21st, has established 43 specialized advisory organizations across various fields to research specialized ESG implementation methods aimed at reducing carbon emissions.
The Bu-Ul-Gyeong Committee plans to conduct activities such as training ESG civic movement instructors, interview academy education for job seekers, ESG civic education, and sector-specific ESG civic movement resolution meetings to promote a nationwide ESG participation movement.

View original imageProfessor Kim said, "ESG is a second Saemaul Undong that requires participation not only from companies, local governments, and public institutions but also from the citizens," adding, "I will develop ESG management as a civic movement."
He continued, "I will do my best to ensure that Bu-Ul-Gyeong companies can make the most of the know-how of the Republic of Korea ESG Committee."
In January, Professor Kim announced the 'ESG Implementation Plan for Households, Small Business Owners, and Educational Institutions,' which includes ways to practice ESG in daily life, and completed copyright registration for it.
