Kim Nam-guk "Will demand Han Dong-hoon to resign... Constitutional Court has already impeached"
On the 27th, Kim Nam-guk, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated at the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee that he would hold Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon accountable for the Constitutional Court's ruling on the validity of the 'Complete Removal of Prosecution's Investigation Rights (Geomsu Wanbak) Law' and demand his resignation regarding the enforcement decree of 'Restoration of Prosecution's Investigation Rights (Geomsu Wonbok)'.
On the same day, in YTN's "News King Park Ji-hoon," Rep. Kim said, "Minister Han is effectively the second-in-command of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, and I evaluate that he was intoxicated by such power as the second-in-command and made a reckless challenge to the legislative authority of the National Assembly," adding, "Although the law was amended to separate investigation and prosecution and to reduce the prosecution's investigation rights, he completely overturned this through an enforcement decree and created a clearly illegal and unconstitutional enforcement decree."
He stated, "The Constitutional Court's decision clearly pointed out that the Ministry of Justice and the prosecution were wrong in this matter, so Minister Han should apologize to the public, resign, and furthermore, it is necessary to revise and restore the illegal enforcement decree."
However, he drew a line regarding the 'impeachment theory' circulating within his party. He said, "I think going toward impeachment is absolutely unreasonable," adding, "It is as if impeachment has already been done through the Constitutional Court's decision."
