The Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced on the 26th that from next month until June, they will carry out a planned fire safety inspection targeting 692 new construction sites in the province that reported the start of construction from March last year to February this year.
To this end, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters will deploy 72 personnel in 36 teams to focus on construction sites with a total floor area of 5,000㎡ or more, inspecting ▲ temporary fire facilities installation and management when handling flammable materials such as welding and cutting at the construction site ▲ appointment and proper performance of fire safety managers ▲ unregistered fire facility businesses and subcontracting ▲ unauthorized storage and handling of hazardous materials.
Jo Seon-ho, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, explained, "Since fire outbreaks at construction sites can cause significant damage due to fire spread, we are conducting this planned inspection to check whether construction site personnel comply with safety regulations."
