Seoul City Expands Free On-Site Water Quality Testing Services
Night and Weekend Service Available
The Seoul Metropolitan Government will begin accepting citizen applications for the ‘Arisu Quality Confirmation Program,’ a service that visits homes to conduct tap water quality inspections, starting from the 27th.
From April, the service will visit households requesting water quality inspections to check five items including turbidity and residual chlorine, providing on-site results and water quality management measures.
Applications for the free water quality inspection can be made by calling 120 (Dasan Call Center) without an area code, contacting the local waterworks office, or through the Seoul Waterworks Headquarters website.
This year, to accommodate citizens such as single-person households and dual-income families who find it difficult to receive visits during daytime hours, inspections will be available until 9 PM on weekdays and from 9 AM to 6 PM on holidays through prior reservation, offering nighttime and weekend water quality inspections as well.
Meanwhile, since launching the ‘Arisu Quality Confirmation Program’ in 2008?the first nationwide program to provide free tap water quality inspections for households?the city has completed a total of 6,069,000 cases as of last year.
