Cheongsong-gun Promotes Tourism Industry Revitalization Through Improvement of Tourism Service Environment
Application Submission for Facility Environment Improvement Project
Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, is promoting the ‘Tourism Service Facility Environment Improvement Project’ to enhance the image of Tourism Cheongsong and revitalize the local tourism industry by providing tourists with comfortable and pleasant services.
The application period is from March 24 to 31, and the target applicants are food service establishments and tourist accommodations located near major tourist attractions within the county.
For food service establishments, it is mandatory to improve facilities from traditional floor seating to table seating. Other eligible improvements include converting closed kitchens to open kitchens, improving restroom environments, and upgrading signboards and menus. The support limit is up to 20 million KRW per establishment, with at least 40% of the total project cost to be self-funded.
For lodging businesses, up to 5 million KRW per establishment will be supported for indoor guide signs, promotional material stands, bedding, wallpaper, and lighting projects. Similarly, at least 40% of the total project cost must be self-funded.
Applications must be submitted by March 31 either by visiting the Tourism Policy Division of Cheongsong-gun Office or by registered mail, along with the project application form, plan, and other required documents based on estimates from contractors capable of performing the facility construction.
Submitted applications will undergo document screening (first round) by the Facility Environment Improvement Project Review Committee of the Gyeongbuk Cultural Tourism Corporation, assessing the appropriateness of the project plan and facility conditions. Only those who pass the document screening will proceed to an on-site inspection (second round), after which the final support recipients will be selected.
Results will be individually notified by the Gyeongbuk Cultural Tourism Corporation in June, and the environment improvement projects are scheduled to commence from June this year.
