Moon Heon-il, Mayor of Guro District (right), presented the Hwarang Military Merit Medal to Kim Seung-woong, the child of the late Corporal Kim Sang-moon, at the Military Merit Medal Presentation Ceremony held on the 23rd at the Renaissance Hall of the district office.

Guro District has been locating and awarding the Hwarang Military Merit Medal to those recognized as recipients during the Korean War but who have not yet received the medal, including their bereaved families.
Mayor Moon Heon-il awarded the Hwarang Military Merit Medal to Kim Seung-ung, the child of the late Corporal Kim Sang-moon of the Capital Division, stating, "I am glad to finally be able to present this medal," and added, "We will never forget the patriotic heroes who sacrificed for our country."
Since 2019, Guro District has awarded military merit medals to a total of 10 individuals.
Gwangjin District Conducts ‘Joint Terror Response Drill’ with Government, Military, Police, and Fire Departments at Guui Arisu Water Purification Center
Gwangjin District (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) conducted a joint ‘terror response drill’ on the 22nd at the Guui Arisu Water Purification Center, integrating government, military, police, and fire departments.
Under the control of the Army’s 3298th Unit, the joint drill involved 87 participants from Gwangjin District Office, Gwangjin Police Station, Gwangjin Fire Station, Guui Arisu Water Purification Center, the 1st Battalion of the 3298th Unit, the 56th Division Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Support Unit, and the 1st Security Group’s Counterterrorism Special Task Force.
They conducted training exercises at the Guui Arisu Water Purification Center to respond to emergencies such as chemical poison terror attacks and explosion fires, performing rehearsal drills.
