Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 17th that it has signed a technical cooperation agreement to resolve noise between floors in apartment buildings with seven private construction companies, including Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Samsung C&T, DL E&C, POSCO Engineering & Construction, GS Engineering & Construction, Daewoo Engineering & Construction, and Lotte Engineering & Construction, at the Construction Hall (Nonhyeon-dong, Seoul).

This agreement follows the joint meetings between LH and construction stakeholders held in December last year and February this year to address noise between floors. During those meetings, consensus was reached on the necessity of technology exchange for noise reduction and corporate social contribution. Based on this, the agreement was made on detailed matters such as on-site verification methods and the roles of private companies and LH.
This technical cooperation involves technology exchange related to noise reduction between floors, on-site verification, and joint development. First, technologies and achievements possessed by both private companies and LH, such as floor impact sound reduction structures that can reduce noise between floors, ceiling soundproofing technologies, and noise alert systems to prevent conflicts caused by noise between floors, will be mutually exchanged.
Additionally, through on-site verification of noise reduction technologies, the actual reduction effects will be confirmed, and comprehensive reviews of constructability, economic feasibility, and environmental aspects will be conducted to share results. Furthermore, a floor impact sound reduction floor structure that can realize more stable performance will be jointly developed with the private sector and disclosed to small and medium-sized construction companies.
In the future, LH and the seven construction companies plan to prepare detailed technical cooperation plans through a working committee.
