Launch of the 3rd Term 9 Regional Development Innovation Councils

Resolution to Overcome Population Crisis and Establish Ecotourism Cities

On the 15th, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do, held the appointment ceremony for the 3rd Gurye-gun Regional Development Innovation Council (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Gun Council’) at the county office situation room, announcing the official launch of a total of nine county and eup/myeon councils.

With the term of the 2nd council expired, County Governor Kim Soon-ho toured eight eup/myeon areas last month to appoint 160 council members and held discussions with them.

The council, which held the appointment ceremony, is composed of 20 members including representatives from the Gurye County Council, private members, and eup/myeon regional representatives.

Following the appointment ceremony, at the 1st regular meeting, member Kim Young-min was elected as vice chairman, and it was resolved to focus on overcoming the population extinction crisis in Gurye-gun during the two-year term.

To expand the resident and related population, the council agreed to actively cooperate in creating a stay-type tourist city themed on ‘Healing, Relaxation, and Ecology,’ the keywords of the 8th popular election administration.

Kim Soon-ho, chairman of the Gun Council, said, “I thank the members who participated in the 3rd Gun and eup/myeon council, and through the council, we will open a true era of local autonomy by strengthening public-private cooperation and communication.”
