Ministry of Economy and Finance: "Will Encourage to Lead to Concrete Results"

The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced on the 16th that it has selected six outstanding institutions for the 2022 KSP projects, including the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements, Dohwa Engineering, Korea Institute for Logistics Economics, International Origin Information Center, Ajou University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, and Hyundai Research Institute.

Based on the evaluations by the lead organizations (Korea Development Institute, Korea Eximbank, and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) for each item among the 42 projects conducted in 2022, the Ministry of Economy and Finance conducted a comprehensive evaluation to shortlist candidates. Then, six institutions were finally selected through the assessment by seven members of the KSP Project Evaluation Committee composed of private experts.

The selection of outstanding institutions focused on those that produced relevant research results through active field investigations and networking with local governments, or those that showed visible achievements such as linking to follow-up projects. Through this evaluation process, the Ministry plans to encourage policy consultations by executing institutions to lead to concrete outcomes rather than one-time research services.

An official from the Ministry of Economy and Finance stated, "The results of this outstanding institution selection will be reflected in future selections of executing institutions through additional points during qualitative evaluations." He added, "We expect that this selection will further enhance the quality of policy consultations throughout the KSP projects, establish references for policy consultations, and create a foundation for specialized policy consultation institutions to grow independently."

Meanwhile, the KSP project, which started in 2004, has been evaluated as contributing to the economic and social development of partner countries by providing about 1,500 policy recommendations tailored to approximately 90 partner countries based on Korea's economic development experience.
