Busan City Hosts Bukhang Galmaetgil Citizen Participation Walking Event
March 18 - April 2, 2030 Busan World Expo Bid Support Event

Busan City will promote the ‘Bukhang Galmaetgil Citizen Participation Walking Event’ to support the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo from March 18 to April 2.
This event, under the slogan ‘From Galmaetgil to Bukhang,’ offers an opportunity to walk along the Galmaetgil trail and experience the Bukhang waterfront area. It was organized to expand public consensus in support of the 2030 Busan World Expo bid in anticipation of the visit by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) inspection team.
The event will be held 10 times across 5 courses from Saturday, March 18 to Sunday, April 2, with 100 participants per session.
▲ Course 1: General Yun Heung-sin Statue to Bukhang (5.5 km, 3 hours) ▲ Course 2: Yongdusan Park to Bukhang (4.7 km, 2 hours 30 minutes) ▲ Course 3: Busan Station to Yeongdo Bridge to Bukhang (4.6 km, 2 hours 30 minutes) ▲ Course 4: Busan Democracy Park to Bukhang (4.6 km, 2 hours 30 minutes) ▲ Course 5: Busan Station to Bukhang (3.5 km, 2 hours 10 minutes) will be conducted in order.
Additionally, various side events such as the 2030 Busan World Expo bid support ceremony and “Ssedam Running” (plogging) will be held to further boost enthusiasm for the 2030 Busan World Expo bid.
In particular, considering the conditions and safety management of the Bukhang waterfront area, participation is limited to about 1,000 people (100 per session) over 10 sessions, with online applications accepted. The target number of participants was exceeded within a week of the application opening, reflecting strong interest and support from citizens.
