Pohang and Gyeongbuk Province Participate in Secondary Battery Specialized Exhibition 'InterBattery 2023'
EcoPro BM, POSCO Chemical, PM Grow, and Others Participate, Promoting Necessity
Pohang City, together with Gyeongbuk Province, promoted the secondary battery specialized complex at 'InterBattery 2023,' the largest specialized exhibition for the secondary battery industry.
Pohang City, together with Gyeongbuk Province, participated in 'InterBattery 2023' held at COEX in Seoul on the 15th to promote the necessity and strengths of the designation of a secondary battery specialized complex.
View original imageHeld from the 15th to the 17th at COEX in Seoul, 'InterBattery 2023' is the largest domestic specialized exhibition for the secondary battery industry, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Battery Industry Association, COEX, and KOTRA.
Since its inception in 2013, it has established itself as a business platform with participation from 300 companies, including global battery giants, and over 50,000 buyers.
Pohang City participated in 'InterBattery 2023' and actively promoted Pohang as the optimal location for the secondary battery specialized complex based on its excellent secondary battery infrastructure at the Gyeongbuk Province investment attraction pavilion, emphasizing the necessity and strengths of designating the specialized complex.
Pohang is positioning itself as the largest domestic production base for cathode materials centered around leading companies such as EcoPro and POSCO Chemical, aiming to produce 1 million tons of cathode materials by 2030 and pursuing designation as a specialized complex. EcoPro BM and POSCO Chemical, participating as leading companies of the specialized complex, showcased their developing cathode material technologies and new products at the exhibition.
On the 16th, PM Grow, located in the Blue Valley Industrial Complex, will present on the topic of 'Electric Vehicle Battery Subscription Service' at The Battery Conference held alongside the exhibition, discussing battery business models.
Kwon Hyuk-won, Director of the Job and Economy Bureau, stated, “Pohang has made great efforts through cooperation among industry, academia, and research to create an innovative ecosystem for the secondary battery industry. Starting with this exhibition, we will promote Pohang’s strengths and justifications to be selected in the ongoing national advanced strategic industry specialized complex competition.”
