On the 15th, Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, met with the Gyeongsangnam-do Volunteer Fire Brigade Association to commemorate the 2nd Volunteer Fire Brigade Day.
At the meeting, Governor Park said, "Thanks to the members who work with a spirit of sacrifice and service, the residents have been able to live with peace of mind," and added, "The province will also take an interest and make efforts so that the Volunteer Fire Brigade can continue to play an important role in regional safety with pride and fulfillment."

Gyeongnam Province explained that 9,501 volunteer firefighters are active in 456 units across the province, and last year they responded to 35,997 incidents including fires, rescue and emergency medical disaster sites, surveillance activities, and promotional activities.
