On the 15th, according to the Ministry of Justice and the police, the Rapid Investigation Team of the Incheon Probation Office under the Ministry of Justice arrested 22-year-old A on charges of violating the Act on the Protection and Electronic Monitoring of Specific Criminal Offenders.
A damaged the electronic anklet he was wearing and fled around 10:49 p.m. the previous day on a street in Danam-dong, Gyeyang-gu, Incheon. During an inquiry into A's acquaintances, the Western Branch of the Incheon Probation Office identified that he had moved to the Bupyeong-gu area of Incheon.
Then, about 6 hours after his escape, at 4:56 a.m. that day, A was caught wandering the streets of Bupyeong-gu. He was immediately detained at the Incheon Probation Office. The Ministry of Justice stated, "After investigation according to the procedures prescribed by law, he will be sent to the prosecution."
