Franchise Toganjip ver.1 You Can Taste Anywhere
No More Worries About Restaurants, Solve It Here!
The editor likes Fridays. Not just because it’s right before the weekend. One reason for liking Fridays is that it’s the upload day for a YouTube channel the editor has been enjoying lately. It’s a segment called ‘Ttoganjip’ on the channel ‘Fun Things Are Uploaded,’ featuring internet broadcaster Pungja introducing famous restaurants across the country. While some popular restaurants are visited based on SNS or internet fame, this show introduces so-called ‘real restaurants’ and ‘local favorite restaurants’ through interviews with local residents, making it feel even more trustworthy.
Every time the editor watches the videos, they wonder, “If I were to meet Pungja in person and do an interview, which places should I introduce?” Suddenly, the idea came to introduce favorite franchises one by one, which led to planning this article. Here are three franchise restaurants you can enjoy anywhere nationwide, and since the editor has actually visited these Ttoganjip spots more than N times, you can trust and follow along. Now, let’s start the editor’s Ttoganjip★
The feeling like you need a hangover cure after drinking the day before
Mibundang
Mibundang is the first franchise Ttoganjip to introduce today, a place that pho lovers cannot miss. It has reinvented the Vietnamese traditional dish pho to suit Korean tastes, earning much love from many. The Chinese characters 米粉 (Mibun), meaning rice noodles, and the warm, Japanese-style interior create a space where anyone with diverse cultures and personalities can enjoy delicious food.
The menu includes brisket, flank, brisket & flank, brisket & flank tendon, and tendon pho, with side dishes like sweet potato spring rolls and potato-wrapped shrimp fritters. The editor’s recommended dishes are definitely the flank pho (10,000 KRW) and brisket & flank pho (10,500 KRW). The brisket pho might feel a bit greasy, so the flank, which offers a clean yet deep flavor, is more recommended. If you want a chewy texture, ordering the tendon is also an excellent choice. Overall, the pho is clean and the noodles are soft. Mixing hot sauce and hoisin sauce in a 4 to 1 ratio for dipping allows you to enjoy it without getting tired of the flavor. The portion is not small, and since bean sprouts and noodles can be refilled once, you can eat to your heart’s content. One thing to note is that this place is not suitable for chatting loudly with friends after a long time; it has a quiet and comfortable atmosphere, making it better for dining alone.
Meat grilled by someone else is the best!
Ttangko Charcoal Grill
Meat is delicious anytime! There’s nothing better than grilling your favorite cuts sizzling on the grill and eating them with your favorite vegetables. It’s tasty even when you grill it yourself, but if someone else grills the meat for you comfortably, your happiness level will surely rise. Especially for those who prefer pork neck over pork belly, here’s Ttangko Charcoal Grill to pay attention to.
Ttangko Charcoal Grill insists on using only 100% domestic female pork slaughtered in the clean areas of Chungcheong Province, with the main menu being pork neck. It’s as thick as pork belly, but thanks to the staff’s grilling skills, the juices don’t escape, allowing you to enjoy a clean yet rich flavor. Ttangko’s salt is made by roasting domestic sun-dried salt for about 45 minutes and mixing it with pepper, red pepper powder, and whole sesame seeds, giving it a more diverse taste. A must-have here is the Jeontu Ramen. Why Jeontu Ramen? Because of the bowl it’s served in. It’s a refreshing yet spicy ramen with bean sprouts and various seafood, so be careful as it will naturally make you crave a drink.
A burger joint with a variety of choices
New York Burger
If you’re looking for a unique hamburger franchise, check if there’s a New York Burger nearby. Its biggest advantage is the affordable price, with most set menus costing less than 8,000 KRW. The signature menu, New York Burger, is a basic combination of patty, lettuce, tomato, and onion. Using a thick handmade patty developed in-house, you can enjoy the fun of chewing and the rich meat juices. The patty has a strong grilled flavor, giving a full handmade burger taste, but without the greasy feeling typical of burgers. Since the menu is diverse, it’s recommended to try other burgers as well.
That’s the end of the franchise edition ? I’ll be back soon with more Ttoganjip picks♡
