Arrest Warrant Requested for Daejinyeon Member in Surprise Protest at US Military Base
The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced on the 13th that they had applied for an arrest warrant the previous day for Mr. A, a member of the Korean University Students Progressive Union (Daejin-yeon), who is suspected of trespassing on a U.S. military base and staging a surprise protest.
Mr. A is accused of holding a protest against the South Korea-U.S. joint military exercises in front of the former ROK-U.S. Combined Forces Command building at the Yongsan U.S. military base on the afternoon of the 10th (charges include trespassing and violation of the Assembly and Demonstration Act). At that time, the police arrested 18 members of Daejin-yeon who participated in the protest, and the remaining 17 were released the previous day. Daejin-yeon did not file a prior report for the assembly and demonstration.

Daejin-yeon announced that the pre-arrest warrant hearing for Mr. A would be held at 10:30 a.m. on the same day at the Seoul Western District Court.
