Busan Port Authority, Full-scale Response to Fine Dust in Spring
As the weather warms up, rising temperatures are causing atmospheric stagnation, leading to the generation of fine dust. In response, Busan Port Authority (BPA) is making every effort to reduce fine dust.
On the 9th, Busan Port Authority (BPA) visited the construction site of the West Container Terminal at Busan New Port to inspect the management status of scattered dust and held a fine dust reduction campaign at the cargo truck rest area at Busan New Port.
First, to inspect the management of scattered dust on-site, BPA, together with the Busan Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office and the Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office, visited the construction site of the West Container Terminal at Busan New Port and the site where cargo handling equipment is being installed to check the installation of dust-proof curtains and the operation of water spraying trucks.
Additionally, BPA conducted a fine dust reduction campaign targeting cargo truck drivers at the cargo truck rest area at Busan New Port, introduced the government's fine dust reduction measures for the transportation sector (restriction on operation of Grade 5 vehicles, expansion of early scrapping support targets), and provided free vehicle emission inspection services.
Busan Port Authority officials are inspecting the site to investigate the management status of airborne dust.
