Yeongju City Holds 'Population Policy Idea Contest' ... Applications Accepted Until April 3
Yeongju City in Gyeongbuk Province is accepting submissions for the "Yeongju City Population Policy Ideas" contest until the 3rd of next month.
This contest was organized to raise awareness and interest in the issue of regional population decline and to enhance Yeongju's population vitality by discovering fresh and diverse ideas.
The contest categories include ▲responding to low birth rates and an aging society ▲youth settlement ▲expanding population inflow ▲other measures to boost population vitality, covering all areas related to population policy.
Anyone interested in population policy can download the application form from the "Yeongju City Population Policy Ideas Contest" section in the Notices and Announcements on the city’s website and submit it via email, visit, or mail.
Submitted ideas will be evaluated based on creativity, feasibility, effectiveness/efficiency, sustainability, and specificity. Awards will be given for one grand prize (700,000 KRW), one excellence prize (500,000 KRW), and two encouragement prizes (200,000 KRW each).
The results will be announced on the city’s website and notified individually in May. Adopted ideas may be reviewed by the responsible department and utilized in Yeongju City’s population policy implementation.
Lee Hang-gyu, Director of the Future Strategy Office, said, “We hope many fresh and creative ideas will be proposed through this contest. We look forward to discovering tailored population policies that are truly needed and to making Yeongju take a step forward.”
