Ritec Eco-Friendly Cleaning Vehicle Exported to Hong Kong
Special vehicle manufacturer Ritec announced on the 7th that it has exported a 5-ton fine dust reduction street sweeper to Hong Kong. The vehicle, designed for cleaning inside tunnels, was manufactured to meet the standards of countries that use right-hand drive, unlike South Korea.
The street sweeper exported this time is a 5-ton medium-sized model with a 4㎥ hopper capacity. Hong Kong has stricter emission standards than Korea, so emission reduction devices and electronic control equipment were installed to meet local regulations.
To reduce fine dust emitted from the auxiliary engine and cleaning devices, special filter and dust collection devices were also installed. The company explained that the air fine dust emitted during the vacuum process is filtered to PM 2.5 level (ultrafine dust), minimizing fine dust emissions.
The company has been involved in applying tunnel cleaning vehicles to local trucks in Hong Kong since 2007. The model exported this time has been designated as the standard right-hand drive street sweeper model. They plan to increase exports targeting countries that use right-hand drive. In the case of large-scale orders, they also plan to adopt semi-knocked down (SKD) and completely knocked down (CKD) production methods, exporting upper body parts for additional local assembly.
Chae Kyung-sun, CEO of Ritec, said, "Through this export to Hong Kong, we expect to expand exports to right-hand drive countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia," adding, "We will diversify our product lineup with medium and large electric and hydrogen street sweepers in line with the trend of introducing eco-friendly vehicles."
