GS25, Cookat's 'Kkukmandu' Ranks No.1 in Dumpling Sales
GS25's 'Kkukkmandu,' launched in collaboration with Cookat, has surpassed the traditional leaders in the frozen dumpling market, 'Bibigo' and 'Gohyangmandu,' to claim the number one spot.
On the 7th, GS25 announced that an analysis of frozen convenience food sales in February showed that Kkukkmandu (385g) achieved the highest sales. In particular, in the frozen dumpling category, it demonstrated overwhelming dominance, with sales approximately 70% higher than the second-place 'Bibigo Wang Gyoja (420g)' and 142% higher than the similarly weighted 'Gohyangmandu (415g)'.
Kkukkmandu is the first product developed and launched at the end of January by GS25 and Cookat, tailored for convenience store customers. It features a pork content of 27% to enrich the juiciness while being priced at 4,900 KRW (385g), offering high quality with great cost-effectiveness. GS25 targeted convenience store customers who cook on the spot by seasoning Kkukkmandu so it can be enjoyed without soy sauce, enhancing both taste and convenience. Additionally, the name 'Kkukkmandu' creatively combines the initial consonants of 'juicy gush' and Cookat, appealing to the core demographic of customers in their 20s and 30s, which is believed to have captured their interest. An analysis of the regions and time slots where Kkukkmandu was sold in February showed high sales in stores located in residential areas with many one- to two-person households and during nighttime hours.

In addition to Kkukkmandu's achievement of the top sales position, Cookat-related products like 'Strawberry Milk Rice Cake 2-pack,' 'Cream Rice Cake 80g,' 'Transparent Shrimp Dumplings 180g,' and 'Charcoal-grilled Boneless Chicken Feet 160g' are also ranking high in sales, enjoying great popularity in GS25's frozen category.
