Changwon Special City Supports Moving Expenses for Vulnerable Groups in Semi-basements and Small Rooms
40,000 KRW Support for Relocation from Informal Housing to Public and Private Rental Housing
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam Province will support moving expenses for housing vulnerable groups living in ‘non-standard residences’ such as semi-basements, jjokbang (tiny rooms), and goshiwon (small dormitory-style rooms) starting this year.
This project provides support up to 400,000 KRW to citizens relocating from non-standard residences such as semi-basements, jjokbang, goshiwon, yeoniksuk (guesthouses), vinyl houses, semi-basements, containers, homeless facilities, manhwabang (comic book rooms), and PC bangs (internet cafes) to public or private rental housing.
The relocation expenses cover moving costs and essential goods purchases confirmed by cash receipts or card slips incurred during the housing move. Costs such as cleaning fees, brokerage fees, alcohol, cigarettes, clothing, medical expenses, luxury items, and meal expenses are excluded.
Applicants must visit the administrative welfare center of the jurisdictional eup, myeon, or dong office within 3 months after moving to apply. Support eligibility will be decided within 14 days after document review and other procedures.
