New COVID-19 Cases 4,300... About 270 More Than Last Week (Update)
The Central Disease Control Headquarters reported that as of midnight on the 6th, there were 4,300 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 30,569,215.
The number of new cases on this day increased by 5,513 compared to the previous day (9,813), due to a decrease in testing over the weekend. Compared to a week ago on the 27th of last month (4,026 cases), there was an increase of 274 cases. The health authorities had previously noted that the number of confirmed cases might temporarily rise due to the return to in-person classes for elementary, middle, and high schools on the 2nd.
Among the new confirmed cases, 20 were imported from overseas.
The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized was 145, a decrease of 3 from the previous day. The number of critically ill patients has remained in the 100s for 15 consecutive days.
