CU Launches Collaboration Products for White Day... "From Damgomi to Kim's Fruit Shop"
Preparing Over 40 Collaborative Products in Partnership with Brands Popular Among the MZ Generation
CU announced on the 6th that it will launch over 40 unique collaboration products with popular brands targeting the cute and hip sensibilities of MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) customers in celebration of White Day.
This year, CU will introduce a collaboration series featuring the popular character ‘Damgomi’ for White Day. Damgomi is a mischievous bear character created by the famous Japanese creator ‘Nagano,’ whose humorous everyday episode illustrations have gained high popularity among the MZ generation.
CU offers 10 different Damgomi goods planning sets, including keyrings and stickers, for customers who want to collect Damgomi character items. These goods planning sets feature Damgomi characters from the episodes by Nagano that received the most positive customer responses, produced as stickers and keyrings. Five sticker planning sets (6,000 to 11,400 KRW) and five keyring planning sets (12,700 to 15,800 KRW) will be released, with the keyring sets containing six different keyring designs randomly included to enhance the fun of collecting.
Additionally, CU has prepared collaboration products with ‘Kimssine Fruit Store,’ a hip fashion brand popular among customers in their teens and twenties. Kimssine Fruit Store is a mobile clothing store that sells products from a small truck printed with real photos of various fruits, resembling a fruit truck.
For this White Day, CU stores will offer five collaboration products with Kimssine Fruit Store. In line with the fruit store concept, two types of ‘Kimssine Assorted Gifts’ shaped like fruit boxes will be sold, along with ‘Kimssine Box Tape,’ which includes box tape and a cutter inside a fruit delivery box-shaped package. Also, a mini-sized ‘Kimssine Color Box,’ modeled after a fruit pallet, will be available, as well as ‘Kimssine Sweet Gift,’ which includes stickers of real fruit photos printed on Kimssine Fruit Store T-shirts.
Moreover, CU has partnered with the American film production and distribution company ‘Warner Bros.’ to release three types of tin cases containing randomly included keyrings of famous characters such as Tom and Jerry, Tweety, and Bugs Bunny. Riding on steady popularity, collaboration products with UpUp and Denz will also be launched.
During this year’s White Day period, CU will hold various discount events. Until the 13th, customers purchasing two or more items from the 18 collaboration products of Damgomi, Kimssine Fruit Store, and Warner Bros. series and paying with NH Nonghyup Card or Hana Card can receive up to 50% discount. When purchasing two or more of the nine Ferrero Rocher products and paying with a BC Card, customers can also get up to 50% off.
The membership application ‘Pocket CU’ will also run a White Day stamp event. Until the 14th, customers who purchase White Day event products worth 12,000 KRW or more and accumulate membership points can enter a cash voucher lottery. Prizes include CU mobile gift certificates worth 30,000 KRW (10 winners), 10,000 KRW (20 winners), and 5,000 KRW (30 winners).
