Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) will hold the ‘2023 Noon Cultural Performances,’ offering beautiful melodies and moments of leisure in daily life every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month starting from the 15th of this month.
The 2023 Noon Cultural Performances, beginning on the 15th, will visit local residents at 12 PM on every 1st and 3rd Wednesday. Starting this year, the venues will expand beyond the existing Seongdong Chaekmaru to include Wangsimni Plaza, the plaza in front of the district office, and other locations to hold performances in various spaces. The first performance on the 15th will be a sophisticated and elegant piano quartet classical stage themed around spring blooming with flowers.
Held at 12 PM on the first floor of Seongdong-gu Office, the Noon Cultural Performances first started in December 2018. Last year, 19 teams from various genres such as classical, popera, gugak (traditional Korean music), and dance performed a total of 13 shows. Many residents visited Seongdong Chaekmaru to enjoy a warm cup of tea along with the performances, savoring healing moments, and the response from residents has grown stronger year by year.
Local artists and busking performance teams wishing to participate in the Noon Cultural Performances can apply for performances at any time. Those interested should contact the Culture and Sports Division of Seongdong-gu Office.
