"China Faces Economic Collapse Crisis Before 2030 Due to Population Issues... South Korea Also Severely Affected"
Geopolitical Analyst Peter Zeihan's Prediction
There is a prediction that China will face an economic collapse crisis due to population issues before 2030.
Peter Zeihan, a prominent American geopolitical analyst, said in an interview with Taiwan News, an English-language newspaper in Taiwan, "China is on the brink of economic collapse because it is not achieving sufficient population growth."
Zeihan pointed out that China's demographic collapse crisis was caused by the 'one-child policy' that lasted from 1980 to 2015.
He emphasized, "From both a population and economic perspective, the demographic collapse occurring in such a vast country is unprecedented in human history," adding, "The nature and intensity of this crisis could lead to politically unprecedented outcomes."
Zeihan also said that China is not the only country facing serious demographic problems, and among the industrial countries in Northeast Asia, South Korea's situation is the most severe and similar to China's.
Japan is also facing similar issues, but Zeihan added that Japan is one of the countries making the most proactive efforts to cope with population decline.
