Creative Problem Solving Possible in a Flexible Atmosphere
On the 2nd, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a regular assembly at the Citizen Hall with about 200 senior officials and heads of eup, myeon, and dong in attendance.
This regular assembly was organized to break away from the conventional format and to communicate with the eup, myeon, and dong heads who are at the forefront of civil administration, providing an opportunity to listen to local civil complaints and the difficulties faced by employees.

In addition, Dong-eup, Yangdeok 1-dong, Seok-dong, and others conveyed on-site difficulties to the mayor and exchanged opinions.
Hong Nam-pyo, mayor of Changwon Special City, emphasized the importance of communication by saying, “From now on, rather than formal meetings or regular assemblies, I will make more time to get closer to employees and communicate freely,” and added, “Creative problem-solving is possible in a flexible atmosphere.”
Following the regular assembly, a ‘Basic Education on Children’s Rights through Case Studies’ was conducted to cultivate sensitivity to children’s rights among public officials.
This education, conducted by inviting a professional instructor, was promoted to fulfill Changwon City’s responsibility as a UNICEF Child-Friendly City by discovering child policies, and it received high praise by approaching real-life case studies.
