Designing an Urban Forest with My Own Hands: Design and Planning Competition
The Korea Forest Service announced on the 2nd that it will hold the "15th Korea Urban Forest Design Competition," starting with online pre-registration on the 3rd of this month.
The competition is held annually to discover ideas that maximize the functions of urban forests and to apply them to actual urban forest development projects nationwide.
This year's competition theme is "Carbon Neutrality 愛 (Ae) with Urban Forests," and the competition sites are three locations: Incheon City, Eumseong County in Chungbuk, and Jinju City in Gyeongnam. Participants can choose one of these regions to submit their works.
Pre-registration will be held in two phases: from the 3rd to the 15th (first phase) and from June 19th to July 7th (second phase). Applications can be submitted only online through the official Urban Forest Design Competition website.
The Korea Forest Service plans to receive submissions from July 24th to August 3rd, conduct judging, and select seven winners: one grand prize, two excellence awards, two encouragement awards, and two honorable mentions, who will be awarded prizes.
The final results will be announced in early September, and a total prize money of 14 million KRW will be awarded to the winners.
The winning works will be used as design materials for urban forest projects in the respective competition regions.
