Gaon Media Rebrands as Gaon Group, Dropping 'Media' from Its Name
Gaon Media, a total AI solution specialist company (CEO Lim Dong-yeon), is planning to change its company name to "Gaon Group" by dropping "Media" after 21 years since its establishment. This publicly signals its intention to expand its business areas and leap forward as a next-generation solution company.
Gaon Media announced on the 28th that it has submitted a proposal to amend the articles of incorporation to change the company name to "Gaon Group" at the regular shareholders' meeting scheduled for March 24. If the proposal passes the shareholders' meeting, the name change will take effect immediately.
A company official explained, "As the business scope of the group companies expands, we decided to change the company name in line with the management direction to pursue a new market expansion strategy, moving away from the limited image of 'Media.'"
Along with its AI OTT solution business, Gaon Media is broadening its business portfolio through its subsidiaries Gaon Broadband and KFutureTech to include ▲network solutions ▲XR solutions ▲robot integrated platforms.
According to the notice of convocation for the shareholders' meeting disclosed by Gaon Media on the 17th, it is also planning to establish regulations for interim dividends along with the name change. This is interpreted as Gaon Media, which has continued settlement dividends for 11 consecutive years including stock and cash dividends to be finally resolved at this shareholders' meeting, seeking opportunities to expand its shareholder return policy.
