Lunit and Agfa Jointly Market 'Insight CXR' at European Society of Radiology Congress
Medical AI company Lunit announced on the 28th that it will conduct joint marketing activities for the chest X-ray AI image analysis solution 'Lunit INSIGHT CXR' with multinational imaging company Agfa at the 'European Congress of Radiology 2023 (ECR 2023)' held in Vienna, Austria, from the 1st to the 5th of next month.
The two companies plan to introduce Agfa's integrated platform 'Musica Workstation,' based on Lunit INSIGHT CXR, at the conference venue.
Musica Workstation is image processing software that analyzes medical images such as radiography, mammography, and fluoroscopy on a single integrated platform. Lunit supports chest X-ray analysis by embedding Lunit INSIGHT CXR into Musica Workstation.
Paul Danini, Agfa's Global Software and Product Manager, said, "Through the integration of Lunit AI solutions, we hope Musica Workstation will support radiologists in faster and more accurate readings and lead the digitalization of radiology."
Additionally, Lunit will present a poster on research related to Lunit INSIGHT CXR at ECR 2023. The study analyzed whether Lunit INSIGHT CXR could distinguish abnormal and normal cases by applying it to 1,671 chest X-rays collected from two large hospitals in the Netherlands. The results showed that the accuracy index (AUC) of Lunit's AI algorithm was 0.908, close to the maximum value of 1. Furthermore, when specificity was set high at 95%, normal cases were efficiently excluded, theoretically improving radiologists' work efficiency, Lunit explained.
Seobum Seok, CEO of Lunit, said, "Since forming a partnership with Agfa in 2021, we have maintained a strong relationship, launching PACS-related products for the first time last year and recently entering the Middle Eastern market together. Especially by presenting the Lunit INSIGHT CXR research abstract at this conference and proving our technological capabilities once again, we will actively collaborate with Agfa to provide high-quality medical services in the European market."
