Shilla Duty Free is expanding synergy effects with the Incheon International Airport 'Smart Airport' construction project through the introduction of the Smart Pass system.
On the 28th, Shilla Duty Free announced that it signed a business agreement with CU Box, which won the Smart Pass construction project from Incheon International Airport Corporation, to build the Smart Pass system. The business agreement ceremony was attended by Nam Woonsung, CEO of CU Box, and Kim Taeho, Vice President and Head of the TR Division at Hotel Shilla, among others.
The business agreement includes comprehensive information sharing on the Smart Pass system, discussions on facial recognition payment, deriving application plans for commercial facilities using the Smart Pass system, and exploring other cooperation methods related to the introduction of the Smart Pass system.
CU Box, established in 2010, is an AI facial recognition specialized company that mainly supplies facial recognition access control systems and contactless authentication solutions used in government offices and airport access. CU Box products have been supplied to the government's four major comprehensive government buildings (Seoul, Sejong, Gwacheon, Daejeon), and CU Box also built the automated immigration inspection system at Incheon Airport. CU Box also won the Smart Pass construction project of Incheon International Airport Corporation, which implements a contactless boarding environment using facial recognition technology.
Through this business agreement, Shilla Duty Free plans to proactively introduce the Smart Pass system and lead the advancement of the duty-free industry. It also aims to create synergy effects by linking with the Smart Airport construction project underway at Incheon Airport.
