KOTRA Operates Korean Pavilion at MWC... Supporting SMEs and Startups
Operation from February 27 to March 2
KOTRA announced on the 26th that it will operate the Korea Pavilion at the 'Mobile World Congress (MWC)' held in Barcelona, Spain from February 27 to March 2 (local time). As this MWC is the first large-scale event in three years since the COVID-19 pandemic, a large number of global telecom companies and IT firms are expected to attend and showcase new technologies.
Since KOTRA first operated the Korea Pavilion at MWC in 2009, it has participated for 14 consecutive years. This year, KOTRA formed an integrated Korea Pavilion with a total of 76 companies, including other organizations such as the Korea Information and Communication Technology Industry Association and Daegu Technopark. Overseas buyers and investors interested in Korean companies and products can easily access product information of the integrated Korea Pavilion companies through the separately established 'Digital MWC Korea Pavilion.'
On March 1, a separate IR pitching event for investment attraction by Korean startups with excellent technology will be held in a premium promotional space within the Korea Pavilion. This event will showcase innovative technologies of domestic startups to more than 100 global investors invited in advance from around the world, featuring ▲a solar power generation system equipped with ultra-small solar cells ▲a digital therapeutic for children with ADHD ▲a pet biometric recognition app, among others. Korean startups can seize both opportunities to promote their technologies to global investors and to discover business opportunities through investment consultations.
Yoo Jung-yeol, President of KOTRA, said, “The MWC exhibition is the world's largest mobile device exhibition attended annually by telecom and big tech companies,” and added, “KOTRA will actively support our participating companies to create business opportunities and achieve tangible results at MWC.”
