New Confirmed Cases 10,055... About 660 Fewer Than Last Week (Comprehensive)
As the COVID-19 outbreak remains stable, the number of new confirmed cases on the 25th reached about 10,000.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on the 25th, there were 10,055 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 30,489,666. The number of new cases on this day is similar to the previous day (10,051).
This is a decrease of 663 cases compared to a week ago on the 18th (10,718 cases) and 2,746 cases compared to two weeks ago on the 11th (12,801 cases), continuing the downward trend. Based on Saturday announcements, this is the lowest number in 35 weeks since June 25 last year (6,778 cases).
From the 19th to the 25th, the daily new confirmed cases over one week were 10,270 → 4,322 → 11,871 → 13,076 → 10,842 → 10,051 → 10,055, averaging 10,069 cases per day.
Among the new cases on this day, 29 were imported cases, 3 more than the previous day (26). Domestic community transmission cases excluding imported cases were 10,026.
The number of confirmed cases by region (including imported cases) were: Gyeonggi 2,460, Seoul 1,922, Gyeongnam 700, Gyeongbuk 636, Busan 613, Daegu 504, Incheon 475, Jeonbuk 434, Chungnam 398, Jeonnam 359, Daejeon 280, Chungbuk 275, Gwangju 262, Ulsan 236, Gangwon 211, Jeju 207, Sejong 79, and quarantine 4.
The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized was 181, down by 2 from the previous day (183), maintaining the count in the 100s for the sixth consecutive day.
The number of deaths reported the previous day was 11, 9 fewer than the day before (20).
The cumulative number of deaths is 33,940, with a cumulative fatality rate of 0.11%.
