From Nanjido to World Cup Park... "Take a Memory Journey"
Operation of Guide Programs at Seobu Park Leisure Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Seoul Western Park Leisure Center announced on the 24th that it will resume in-person operation of the "Memory Journey of the Park" program, which provides commentary and guidance on the process from Flower Island Nanjido to World Cup Park, from next month on the 2nd until November.
World Cup Park, once a flower island where orchids and ground orchids bloomed beautifully, has become an important park in Seoul enjoyed by about 6.3 million citizens annually through stabilization projects over the years.
The "Memory Journey of the Park" allows participants to learn about the origin of the name Nanjido, hear about citizens' lifestyles, the story of the landfill, and directly tour World Cup Park by riding the Mangkkongi electric vehicle.
Schools and institutions interested in environmental education for climate change response and park regeneration of the landfill can participate, and the program will be operated eight times a month.
Additionally, the family-oriented "Kkoekkori Boongboong Car Park Exploration Team" will be operated free of charge twice a month on Saturdays (10:00?11:30). Applications can be made on a first-come, first-served basis through the Seoul Public Service Reservation system (12 people per session).
