On the 23rd, Governor Kim held an open provincial government meeting at the multipurpose conference room of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office, where he attended a lecture by Ha Jung-woo, head of Naver AI Research Center, titled "The Present and Future of the ChatGPT Era's Ultra-large AI Ecosystem," followed by a free discussion session.
At the meeting, Governor Kim said, "I hope we try using it first. Rather than just thinking about it, I believe we need to experience it physically, so I would like us to find ways to utilize ChatGPT starting with small applications," adding, "While using it, please also review policy side effects such as technological polarization issues and possible countermeasures."
Earlier, on the 9th, Governor Kim posted on his social media under the title "ChatGPT, I will not just watch," stating, "I plan to officially start the 'GyeonggiGPT' initiative. I have already pledged an 'AI-based digital administration,'" and added, "Using AI can make it easier to access policy information and improve administrative efficiency."
After about an hour of discussion on integrating ChatGPT into provincial administration, Governor Kim explained, "The area I am most interested in recently is 'livelihood,' because the difficult economic situation is likely to worsen the suffering of vulnerable groups, low-income citizens, and the middle class within the province."
He also referred again to the movie "Next Sohee," which he watched last week, expressing his intention to "arrange opportunities for all employees to watch it."
Governor Kim said, "It is a story about the socially vulnerable who are in the most difficult situations in our society. Watching the movie, I felt that we also bear responsibility for allowing such things to happen," and added, "I hope those who want to watch it can do so together."
Meanwhile, in his opening remarks that day, Governor Kim encouraged officials regarding the prosecution's search of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office, saying, "Do not be intimidated at all and work confidently."
