Goheung-gun Completes Registration of 7,042 Parcels through Special Real Estate Measures Act
The Highest Number of Certificates Issued in the Province, Great Contribution to the Exercise of Property Rights by County Residents
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced on the 21st that ownership of 7,042 parcels of land has been transferred through the Special Act on Real Estate Ownership, which was temporarily implemented for two years starting August 5, 2020.
During the two years the Special Act on Real Estate Ownership was in effect, the county received applications for certificates of confirmation for 8,587 parcels, the highest number in Jeollanam-do. Excluding 1,545 parcels that were subject to objections or dismissals, ownership preservation and transfer registrations were completed under the names of the actual owners for 7,042 parcels, which is expected to greatly assist residents in exercising their property rights.
Through this Special Act on Real Estate Ownership, land that had not been registered for ownership preservation or whose registry entries did not match the actual rights relationships could be registered under the actual owner's name through a simplified procedure.
A county official stated, “Thanks to the more than 700 guarantors who were appointed as guarantors under the Special Act on Real Estate Ownership and volunteered for two years, we were able to achieve results in protecting the property rights of our residents,” and added, “We appreciate the hard work of all the guarantors who have dedicated their efforts.”
Meanwhile, Goheung-gun was selected as an ‘Excellent Institution’ and received an award in the nationwide comprehensive evaluation of the Special Act on Real Estate Ownership conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in December last year.
