Geochang-gun Conducts Comprehensive Inspection of Landslide-Prone Areas During Thaw Season
Inspection Conducted at 175 Vulnerable Areas by March 31
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is conducting a comprehensive inspection of 175 landslide-prone areas as the spring thaw season begins.
This inspection was prepared to promote accident prevention and preemptively eliminate risk factors due to concerns about safety accidents caused by the collapse risk of mountain slopes and stone walls resulting from ground weakening as the frozen surface melts during the thaw period (February to April).
The county has organized an inspection team and plans to conduct on-site inspections of landslide-prone areas, organize resident contact systems, and check evacuation routes and shelters by March 31. The results will be registered in the landslide information system inspection history to maintain a rapid response system.
