Launch of Organizing Committee for Overcoming Health Care Crisis 'World Health City Forum'... To Be Held in Incheon This November
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced on the 19th that the organizing committee for the 'World Health City Forum (WHCF: World Health City Forum)' to be held in Incheon at the end of this year has recently been officially launched.
The forum, themed "Globalization of Risk, How to Make the World Safer?", is scheduled to take place over three days from November 22 to 24 at Songdo Convensia and Yeongjongdo. It is hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Incheon City, Seoul National University, Yonsei University, Ewha Womans University, and supported by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority.
The forum is designed to reach a consensus on overcoming the current healthcare crises humanity faces, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, climate disasters, and aging populations, and to explore sustainable development plans for future cities and nations in the post-pandemic era.
The forum organizing committee chairpersons are four individuals: Yoo Jeong-bok, Mayor of Incheon (event sector); Yoo Hong-rim, President of Seoul National University (healthcare); Seo Seung-hwan, President of Yonsei University (urban); and Kim Eun-mi, President of Ewha Womans University (sustainability). The organizing committee members include Kim Yeon-su, Director of Seoul National University Hospital; Kim Jin-yong, Commissioner of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority; and Choi Jae-chun, Ewha Womans University Distinguished Professor.

Keynote speakers are expected to include Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO); Angela Merkel, former Chancellor of Germany; and Anthony Stephen Fauci, former Director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, among other global healthcare leaders.
Experts in healthcare, urban development, and climate change from various countries are expected to gather to establish a global consensus on overcoming the healthcare crises humanity faces.
Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok stated, "Since this forum is an opportunity to showcase world leadership as a medical advanced country, we will do our best to support it."

Kim Jin-yong, Commissioner of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, said, "Historically, the relationship between cities and pandemics has been a human issue directly linked to the growth and limits of cities. This event will be an opportunity for the Incheon Free Economic Zone, which aims to be a bio-medical health city, to establish Songdo's status as a global bio hub and lead global issues."
