Seoul City, Recruiting Volunteers for Hangang Park in 2023
Applications Accepted for 3 Weeks Until the 13th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Seoul Metropolitan Government's Hangang Project Headquarters announced on the 20th that it will recruit volunteers to maintain and protect Hangang Park for three weeks until the 13th of next month in 2023.
The recruitment of Hangang Park volunteers is being promoted to create a healthier and more pleasant Hangang Park through the hands and voices of citizens who use the park. Especially this year, focused activities will include environmental cleanup campaigns in response to the climate crisis, facility inspections to ensure a safe park, bicycle safety riding campaigns, and basic order spreading campaigns.
The volunteer recruitment is divided into a total of seven fields, planning to recruit 180 individual volunteers and 85 teams. First, in the individual category, they will recruit ▲Facility Inspection Volunteer Group (30 people) focusing on safety inspections of park facilities, ▲Hangang Bicycle Patrol Volunteer Group (60 people) conducting bicycle safety riding campaigns, ▲Bamseom Ecological Experience Center Guide Volunteer Group (30 people), and ▲Volunteer Activity Leaders (60 people) who lead group volunteer activities by park.
Next, in the group category, there are ▲Hangang Guardians (60 teams) who assist with environmental cleanup activities and green space maintenance, ▲Safety Culture Promotion Volunteer Group (10 teams) that focuses on promoting park usage etiquette and preventing safety accidents, and ▲Talent Donation Mural Volunteer Group (15 teams) that creates murals on aging facilities within the park.
For the individual category, any citizen aged 20 or older residing or active in Seoul can apply, and for the group category, elementary, middle, and high schools, companies, civic groups, etc. located in Seoul can apply with five or more members together according to the desired activity.
Detailed eligibility and selection criteria can be found on the Seoul Metropolitan Government Hangang Project Headquarters website under the [News] board. Those wishing to apply should download the application form from the relevant post, fill it out, and submit it via email by the 13th.
Volunteers registered and active in Hangang Park will be provided with uniforms, volunteer ID cards, and activity supplies. Individual volunteers who participate for more than four hours a day will also receive a small volunteer activity allowance.
Additionally, selected volunteers can have their volunteer hours recognized through the 1365 Volunteer Portal, and individuals and groups who continue activities for more than two years and accumulate over 200 hours of total activity will have the opportunity to receive a commendation from the Seoul Mayor.
