Gyeonggi-do to Invest 10.7 Billion KRW in Urban Maintenance Projects This Year
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will support a total of 10.75 billion KRW through the Urban Residential Environment Improvement Fund for 15 urban maintenance projects this year.
The Urban Residential Environment Improvement Fund has been established and operated since 2012 to facilitate the smooth progress of urban and residential environment improvement projects. Major supported projects include ▲establishment of basic and maintenance plans by city/county ▲safety inspections ▲costs for vacant house maintenance ▲small-scale housing maintenance ▲single-family house repair projects, among others.
This year, the province selected the targets for urban maintenance projects and single-family house repair support projects through a demand survey of cities and counties conducted last year.
For urban maintenance projects, to reduce the initial cost burden when securing project funds is difficult, the province supports the costs for basic and maintenance plan establishment services and safety inspections. The single-family house repair support project targets 150 aging houses.
Yoon Sung-jin, head of the Urban Regeneration Promotion Team of the province, stated, "Gyeonggi Province continuously strives to improve the aging residential environment of its residents, and will do its best to ensure that maintenance projects proceed smoothly in the future."
