Highly Praised for Drone Light Shows and Mobile Games
[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Cheol-hoon] Yeosu City in Jeollanam-do announced that the ‘Yeosu Geobukseon Festival’ has achieved the great feat of being selected as the representative festival of Jeollanam-do for five consecutive times from 2019 to 2023.
According to Yeosu City, on the 9th, Jeollanam-do conducted on-site evaluations by the festival evaluation team and assessments by the festival review committee for the representative festivals of 17 cities and counties in Jeollanam-do held last year, selecting the representative festivals of Jeollanam-do.
Last year, the Yeosu Geobukseon Festival was held at Jongpo Marine Park under the theme ‘Shouting Again Toward a Future of Hope!’ and attracted 370,000 visitors.
In this evaluation, programs harmonizing tradition and modernity such as the drone light show, the mobile game ‘Imjinwaeran’, and ‘Find the Geobukseon’ received great responses from visitors and earned high scores.
The city plans to focus its administrative efforts on preparing even richer and more diverse attractions and entertainment for this year’s Geobukseon Festival, scheduled to be held in May.
Jeong Gi-myeong, Mayor of Yeosu, said, “I thank the Yeosu Jinnam Geobukseon Festival Preservation Association for their hard work in preparing the Yeosu Geobukseon Festival every year,” and added, “We will leverage the strength of being selected as a representative festival for five consecutive years to enhance the completeness of this year’s festival and satisfy citizens and tourists.”
