Gwangju Buk-gu Supports Installation of Eco-Friendly Low-NOx Boilers
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 16th that it will promote the 'Low-NOx Boiler Installation Support Project' to reduce fine dust and improve air quality.
Low-NOx boilers are eco-friendly boilers that have excellent effects in reducing nitrogen oxides (NOx), which are air pollutants, and have high energy efficiency, thereby reducing fuel costs.
Buk-gu has supported the replacement and installation of a total of 9,327 low-NOx boilers over the past two years, and plans to support 5,111 units this year with a budget of 560 million won.
The support targets are homeowners or tenants within Buk-gu who replace or newly install low-NOx boilers for household use this year.
For each low-NOx boiler, general households receive a subsidy of 100,000 won, and low-income households receive 600,000 won. The support quantity is 5,000 units for general households and 111 units for low-income households.
Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the budget is exhausted. Applicants can submit the required documents by registered mail or visit the Climate and Environment Division of Buk-gu Office, or apply online through the Household Boiler Certification System.
For more details, please check the Buk-gu Office website or contact the Climate and Environment Division.
Moon In, the head of Buk-gu Office, said, "Through the installation of eco-friendly low-NOx boilers, we can expect the dual benefits of minimizing air pollution and reducing fuel costs," and added, "We hope residents planning to replace old boilers will show great interest and apply."
