On the afternoon of the 14th, the ‘Cinnamoroll Sweet Cafe’ located on the 2nd floor of AK&Hongdae in Donggyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, was bustling with many customers despite it being a weekday. After entering a phone number into the waiting customer management tablet PC placed at the store entrance, a notice appeared stating the waiting time was 125 minutes. An employee tidying up inside the store hinted, “It’s convenient if you make a reservation online in advance and then come.”
Opened in June last year, this place is a dessert cafe utilizing Sanrio’s dog character ‘Cinnamoroll’ from Japan. It has gained great popularity among the younger generation with its cute and charming image.
Inside and outside the store, there were many objects using sky blue, pink, and mint colors symbolizing Cinnamoroll. It creates an atmosphere as if customers actually entered a Cinnamoroll room, providing various attractions not only to existing Cinnamoroll character fans but also to general visitors.

In a space of about 230㎡, there is a cafe selling drinks and desserts, as well as a store selling goods and photo zones.
On this day, various customers visited the cafe, including kindergarten children, university students dressed in Japanese character costumes, and adult character enthusiasts.
Children with excited expressions repeatedly shouted “So cute” while looking at character goods, and parents busily put the goods their children chose into shopping baskets and proceeded to checkout.
Characters from Sanrio Characters, including Cinnamoroll, are produced and sold as various goods such as bags, stationery sets, dolls, and clothing. Thanks to their uniquely cute appearance, they are loved by a wide range of consumers from teenagers to people in their 30s. Especially, on online communities, they are mentioned as back-to-school gifts for young students, resulting in numerous purchase verification posts. On secondhand trading sites, there are even cases where specific products are sold at a premium.
