Kiturami Group Donates 50 Million KRW in Scholarships to Low-Income Families in Gwangjin-gu

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) received a scholarship grant of 50 million KRW from the Kiturami Group for low-income students.
At the scholarship grant ceremony held at Gwangjin-gu Office on the 14th, Mayor Kim Kyung-ho and Song Kyung-seok, CEO of Kiturami Holdings, attended. Mayor Kim met with Kiturami Group officials to receive the sponsorship funds and had a time to communicate about educational welfare.
Mayor Kim said, “I am grateful to the Kiturami Group for donating scholarships to students in need,” and added, “We will do our best to support education so that students can freely pursue their dreams despite difficult circumstances.”
The 50 million KRW scholarship grant received that day will be given to basic livelihood security recipients and near-poverty students in the region. It is planned to support 32 high school students with 1 million KRW each and 6 university students with 3 million KRW each.
The Kiturami Group has been steadily practicing sharing based on the social contribution philosophy that “educational opportunities should be equal for everyone.”

In particular, the scholarship sponsorship has been a representative project continuously carried out for 37 years since 1985. So far, about 50,000 students have been supported, and the cumulative scholarship amount reaches approximately 30 billion KRW. This year marks the first time the group has sponsored in Gwangjin-gu, uniting their will to support vulnerable groups.
